There's a persistent rumor that Central Pennsylvanians consider male supporters of Obama girly men who are good for nothing but sewing, fetching and hair dressing.
I suppose the true way to find out would be to hire Gallop or Harris to run a scientific poll. Since that's likely not to happen Bob, yours is an unfair question. Asking, on the other hand, for individuals to respond with their individual opinion/feeling is, I believe, more appropriate.
That said...
I know people who were against Hillary...solely because she was a "she"; against Obama, solely because he's black. In my opinion, that's stupid.
I will not vote for Obama solely because he's a demonstrated, extreme liberal...something even you know I strongly oppose. If, for example, a woman or minority were running for President that was a true capitalist, supporter of true free enterprise, understood the true purpose of the Federal government as created by our founding fathers, kept taxes to a "need only" level, followed the lead of the guy (forget his name) who became rich due to oil but is now pushing for alternatives; gave the needy a hand up rather than a constant hand out while allowing non-profits to make that their mission, not the Federal governments, etc....I'd vote for either in a heartbeat.
In fact, one person who just may meet that criteria is Governor Bobby Jindal of Louisiana.
You want a Presidential candidate who's "a true capitalist, supporter of true free enterprise." How about Ken Lay or Jeff Skilling from Enron? Or any of the top brass from Adelphia, WorldCom, Arthur Anderson or other giant enterprises who have blackened the image of Big Business?
Yes, yes. I know you know (and admire) him through your former position as president of Junior Achievement of Western PA. I know you both call yourselves conservatives and evangelical Christians. But yo! Careful where you throw that adjective "extreme" around.
PS: My health improves every day. Blood pressure fluctuates wildly, though. Depending on what I'm reading or watching on the boob tube.
Maybe it'll really depend in how I reply to you, hahaha. Yes, Rick is someone I know and we're both conservative Christians. Whether that's considered extreme or not makes no difference to me.
I'll read his clip after taking my son out.
Insofar as Lay, Skilling et al? They were businessmen...not politicians...completely different. Same with me...am NO politician nor would I want to be. I do like Gov. Jindal though..a solid conservative politician.
