What stories aren't being covered in The Patriot-News?

Not a lot of activity here lately. I won't take it personally, since there's not much activity on the Pennlive forums either.

So this is a good opportunity to turn it over to the members here:

What stories are The Patriot-News and other local media missing or ignoring?

It can be any kind of story -- a specific happening we're missing, or a large-scale issue that needs more attention.

And don't worry, you won't offend me. I'd rather know I'm missing something and catch up on it, as opposed to never giving it attention at all.

Let's hear it.

In that case, may we assume there's nothing puzzling, nor offensive, about referring to Mr. Strayer as Loopy Lee and Mr. Fouad as Little Bunny Foo Foo?

Viewpoints are one thing. Vendettas are quite another.

Guys. You're really making me create a "No nicknames" rule?

I have gone out of my way to be accommodating to you. I've told you that the discussions cannot, will not have the same tone same here as it has on other sites. Despite the fact that this is not what I had in mind when I created this forum, or what the 35 other members had in mind when they joined, I've allowed it to continue because I don't believe in silencing anyone, and I believed you might be able to conduct a worthy conversation in a better manner here.

But I've recently gotten multiple complaints about what's happening right now. So I'll publicly repeat the warning I've given you privately: If you're not interested in having a different level of discussion here, then use the litany of other sites at your disposal. This is not the place for what is happening right now.

This is my last warning. No nicknames. Stick to the issues. Even though I know you don't all like each other, here you're going to treat each other with some degree of respect. If that doesn't sound doable, then you should not be posting here.

Once again Daniel, I'll respectfully remind you that this "discussion" would not have taken place had it not been INITIATED with false statements made by Bob Woods, followed by misrepresentative comments by Bill Brill. I'll accept criticism for referencing Brill as "Billy-Bob" yet that "nickname" pales in comparison to the misleading statements made by them.

In fact, with reference to the post INITIATED by Woods, I respectfully provided the direct link to PHC's mission. What Woods INITIATED was a flat out lie in saying that PHC members "...pass themselves off as childcare experts". Ask him to provide support for his statement. He'll have none which is why I suggested you consider deleting his post.

Look, I realize you and others may not like the exchange and, believe it or not, no more than I do yet someone has to stand up to misleading statements lest people become ill-informed.

Other than my reference to Brill as "Billy-Bob", please re-read the posts and you'll clearly see it was they who INITIATED it all...followed by my clarification for any readers.

All I ask is that, in the future, should you have a specific issue with any of my comments please do feel free to let me/all know; otherwise, I respecfully request not to be lumped together.

I'm really not at all concerned with who initiated it. Anyone is welcome to correct information that you feel is misleading as long as it's done in the way we're all asking.

I'll eagerly await watching the next discussion go much better than this one has. Let's put it behind us.

That will give those who've done it ammunition to do it regularly. I'm afraid you've now opened Pandora's Box. I sincerely hope that isn't the case yet past behavior is an indicator of future performance.

I'm deeply offended to learn that Lee considers me a liar. And, even worse, an initiator.

Poor Pandora! She'd better hide the key to that box in a safe spot. Preferably somewhere out around Pittsburgh.

Initiation isn't the problem. Misleading information and name-calling is a problem, no matter who starts it.

But like I said before, I'll sort out what's misleading and what isn't, and those who spread misleading information will pay in their credibility. Hopefully a civil, fact-based discussion from all sides can help everyone sort that out.
